Selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) can be used as a primary treatment for glaucoma. SLT is an effective method for lowering intraocular pressure. SLT therapy is also used in addition to eye drops to control intraocular pressure.
SLT laser treatment has been practiced in Kreutzwaldi Eye Center for years.
STEP ONE: CONSULTATION
The doctor will thoroughly examine your eyes and recommend a treatment plan. The same doctor also performs the laser procedure and re-examines your eyes later.
STEP TWO: THE PROCEDURE
SLT treatment uses a laser to stimulate the drainage of excess fluid.
STEP THREE: RECOVERY
After the SLT procedure, the doctor will tell you whether you still need to use eye drops after the laser treatment.
STEP FOUR: POST-PROCEDURE MONITORING
Your doctor will monitor your recovery and the outcome of your treatment and answer any questions you may have.
